5 Benefits of Owning Your Own Hot Tub

Owning a hot tub can be a luxurious addition to any home, but it’s not just about relaxation and fun. There are many health benefits that come with owning a hot tub, especially if it’s equipped with hydrotherapy features. Here are five benefits of owning your own hot tub:

1. Stress Relief: The warm water and hydrotherapy features of a hot tub can help ease muscle tension and promote relaxation, leading to stress relief. Regular use of a hot tub can help reduce the production of stress hormones, such as cortisol, in the body, helping you to feel more relaxed and refreshed.

2. Pain Relief: Hydrotherapy is known for its ability to help alleviate pain and promote healing. The warm water and massage jets can help increase circulation, reduce inflammation, and decrease pain associated with conditions such as arthritis, fibromyalgia, and chronic pain.

3. Better Sleep: Soaking in a hot tub before bedtime can help promote better sleep. The relaxation and warmth of the water can help ease tension and prepare the body for a good night’s sleep. Additionally, the hot tub can help regulate body temperature, which can be especially beneficial for people who struggle with sleep disturbances.

4. Improved Circulation: The warm water of a hot tub can help improve circulation by increasing blood flow to the muscles and tissues. This can help promote healing and reduce inflammation, as well as alleviate symptoms associated with conditions such as varicose veins and deep vein thrombosis.

5. Enhanced Overall Well-Being: Regular use of a hot tub can have a positive impact on your overall well-being. The relaxation and stress relief can help improve mood, while the pain relief and improved circulation can help improve
physical health. Additionally, owning a hot tub can provide a social space for family and friends to come together and enjoy time together, promoting overall happiness and social connections.

In conclusion, owning a hot tub can be a great investment in your health and well-being. With its stress-relieving, pain-reducing, sleep-promoting, circulation-improving, and overall well-being enhancing benefits, a hot tub can provide a  luxurious and health-promoting addition to your home. If you’re considering purchasing a hot tub, be sure to choose one with hydrotherapy features to maximise the health benefits. Browse our range of hot tubs here.

Can Hot Tubs Really Help Relieve Fibromyalgia? The Surprising Truth

If you’re one of the millions of people suffering from fibromyalgia, you’re probably always looking
for new ways to ease your symptoms. So it’s no surprise that many people are curious about
whether or not hot tubs can help relieve fibromyalgia pain. This blog post will look at the
research on this topic and discuss the benefits of using a hot tub to treat fibromyalgia.

A study looked at if a hot tub could improve symptoms of fibromyalgia. The researchers found
that participants who used the hot tub three times per week had fewer pain and tenderness
points than those who didn’t use it at all. In addition, they also reported fewer fatigue levels,
improved cognitive functioning, and lower levels of depression.

A hot tub could reduce muscle spasms associated with fibromyalgia. This study found that after
one month of using the hot tub twice daily, participants experienced significantly reduced muscle
spasms by up to 35%. In addition, those who used the hot tub reported an improved range of
motion and increased strength.
The heat from a hot tub can also help lessen stiffness associated with fibromyalgia. A study
found that after two weeks of using a hot tub three times per week, participants had lower
stiffness levels than those who didn’t use it.
Hot tubs could reduce the severity of sleep problems in people with fibromyalgia. After one
month of using the hot tub twice daily, participants reported improved quality of sleep and
reductions in fatigue levels.
Many people have found that immersing themselves in a hot tub can help them manage their
pain and improve their overall quality of life. Invest in a hot tub and let the warm water provide
relief from your pain.

Why a hot tub is ideal to encourage family time

You might think that the only reason to have a hot tub installed in your home is because it means that you are going to get some me time. Of course, hot tubs are going to allow you to relax, unwind and simply indulge yourself, but they can do so much more than that.In fact, if you have a family home, then here is why a hot tub might be just what you are looking for to bring you together.

You can step away from technology

Whilst technology is great and something that we should all welcome in our lives, it can actually have a bit of a negative impact on our modern family lives. Rather than making an effort to sit and chat with one another, if technology is there, we will be on there, scrolling through Facebook or playing a game. It isn’t because we don’t want to talk to those around us, but it is too easy to find other things that you can do instead.

A hot tub will be a tech free zone, which means that if you are looking for quality time spent together, then quality time is exactly what you are going to get.

You have an excuse to spend time together

You shouldn’t ever have to find an excuse to spend time together, but sometimes that is exactly what we need to do. It is all too easy to find other things that need to be done around the house, but, if you have a hot tub for you all to jump into, then it makes sense that this something that you are going to want to do instead. No excuses.

Your kids can have friends over

We admit that it isn’t always ideal having your kids bring their friends home, but this is usually only because you are going to have to think of ways to entertain them. With a hot tub, you don’t have to worry about planning in any activities, you can simply ask them to make sure that they bring their swimwear and then they can jump on into the hot tub. This leaves you free to unwind in any way that you want whilst they are busy.

It is great fun

One of the best things about having a hot tub in your garden is that it is fun. There is nothing quite like being all together, laughing, joking and making memories. Sure, you might want to use your hot tub to unwind in from time to time, but it can also be a great way to splash around, play some music and simply let your hair down.

So, what are you waiting for? Why not treat your family to something that they are going to love with a hot tub in your garden? We can promise you that this is an investment which will give you the chance to spend some more quality time together as a family.

How to make sure you choose the right hot tub

It is no secret that buying a hot tub for your home is an investment. When you are spending out a relatively large amount of money, you are going to want to make sure that you have carefully thought about and considered all the options and that you have chosen the right one for you.

So, how do you do this?  How do you make sure that you have chosen the right hot tub? Here are some of the main things to keep in mind.

How many people do you need to fit in there?

Hot tubs are designed to be a social space, a place to spend some time together and to really enjoy each other’s company. With this in mind, you need to make sure that you consider how many people you are going to want to have space for within your hot tub. Chances are that you will only need around 2 to 4 seats in your hot tub. However, there are those hot tubs which can accommodate even more people if you think that there is a chance that you will need it.

How much space do you have in your garden?

One of the first things that you need to think about is how much space you have in your garden. The last thing that you are going to want is to spend out on a hot tub, only to find that you simply do not have enough space in your garden for it. Always think about how much space you have in your garden and always make sure that you only order a hot tub that will fit into the space with room out there for you to actually get out there and move around.

Take the time to research

Another incredibly important thing to do when it comes to buying a hot tub is making sure that you take the time to research your options. You are never going to know whether or not you have bought the right hot tub if you haven’t taken the time to learn more about what is out there. You may also find that there are a lot more hot tubs to choose from then you might have realised.

Use your hot tub!

When you have made an investment into a hot tub for your home, then you are going to want to make sure that you use it as much as possible. Hot tubs are great fun and they are ideal for couples, families and friends alike to all use. So, one of the most important things to remember when you have bought a hot tub, is that you use it as much as you can.

If you are looking for a great quality hot tub that not only has everything that you want, but that is stylish too, then you are going to want to have a look at the superb range of Shoreline Hydrotherapy hot tubs. Not only a great way to relax and unwind, hot tubs are also designed to help with all those aches and pains that can come with everyday life.

Noticed limescale on your hot tub? Here is what could be causing those pesky stains!

In science talk, limescale is hard water deposits left often in bathrooms. They are made up of calcium and magnesium and attach themselves to any surface that the water is in contact with. When it comes to your hot tub, limescale is frustrating. Not only does it look awful but if it is left without being treated then you can actually find that it causes damage to the components of the hot tub and the shell of it too.
When you have limescale on the surface of your hot tub it is going to make the shell look like it is faded and that it is past its best. It may even look dirty or unhygienic. Which is not exactly going to tempt you into jumping in after a long and busy day.
So, why is limescale making an appearance in your hot tub and what can you do about it?
What causes limescale?
There are a variety of reasons why limescale can build up in your hot tub. One of the most common causes is the area of the UK that you live in. In the south of the UK the water is what is known as hardwater, which means that it has a high mineral content. The water passes through chalk and limestone which then means that both of these minerals in the water in high levels and the deposits of limescale will form quicker on your hot tub.
Other reasons that limescale can form is because your water is high in alkaline and even due to too many people entering the hot tub with oils and body lotions on their skin.
So, what can you do about it?
Every single hot tub owner is likely to see limescale forming at some point. However, the good news is that there are things that you can do to remove it and prevent it from happening in the future.
Removing limescale means that you need to get to work as elbow grease is the best way to get rid of it completely. You are going to need to make sure that you drain your hot tub completely, before using a suitable stain & scale cleaner. Using a soft cloth or sponge, you will need to give the surface of the hot tub, where the limescale is, a good old-fashioned scrub.
Once it has all been scrubbed away you need to rinse off the mixture, before draining the hot tub completely too. You can then refill your hot tub and then add your chemicals to the water.
Ongoing, you need to check your water on a regular basis, to make sure that it is balanced and use the scale inhibitor. You also need to make sure that you clean your filter every other week. It is also important to drain and give your hot tub a clean every 3 months as well as organising a full service every year too.
Limescale can be a problem, but, just like many issues, there are things that you can do to make it better. Get cleaning, look after your hot tub and we can promise you that in the long term it will be the perfect addition to your home.

What low or high pH levels can do to your hot tub

The thing to remember about hot tubs is that they are great to own and can bring you so much happiness and fun, but you do need to take care of them in order to get the most use out of them.

One of the most important things for you to do when you have a hot tub, is to make sure that the pH levels of the water are just right. You need to make sure that they sit between 7.2 and 7.8 on the pH scale as any higher or lower than this could cause some issues to develop, not only in the hot tub, but also for you too after you have used it.

Signs that your pH levels are too high (too much calcium in the water)

There are a few signs that there could be a problem with the pH levels in your hot tub water. One of the most obvious is that when you are in the hot tub, you will start to feel that your skin is dry and itchy as well as that your eyes are burning too. Not exactly the nicest feeling in the world. You will also see that there are marks and stains on the acrylic and the water will start to look cloudy.

As it carries on, you are likely to find that you will need to use more sanitizer in the water to get it to the right level. You may also see that the seals and components within your pump are becoming damaged and worn.

Signs that your pH levels are too low (high acidity)

Now the trouble with high acidity, is that the signs of this are much like the signs of high pH levels. Which can make things confusing. You will notice that your skin is itchy when you get into the water and you may also notice that the chlorine that you are adding isn’t working quite as well as it used to.

Another sign that the levels might be too low is that the acrylic on the hot tub, including the pump seals are showing signs of damage and even the metal components that are sturdy and strong are actually rusting too.

The only way to make sure that your pH levels are right in your pool is to test the water using pH test strips or a test kit with testing tablets. You need to do this on a regular basis, in fact, it is advised to do it before you get in. Just to make sure that the water you are about to sink into is in the very best condition possible and that you can enjoy it without any issues too.

What happens when you have a hot tub installed?

Of course, every company is different and has a different level of service, but when it comes to installing a hot tub in your home, there are usually similar things that are part of the process. If you have taken the plunge and you have bought yourself a hot tub, then here is what you can expect when the time comes to have in installed.

Install your hot tub and connect your electrics

Whilst it is often down to you to make sure that you have the right electrics ready and waiting for your hot tub to be installed, your hot tub supplier will bring your hot tub to you and then connect it to the electrics that are ready and waiting.

Fill up your hot tub and explain the use of the chemicals

Once it is in place, then the time has come to make sure that your hot tub is filled up with water, after all, what is a hot tub without water? It can take as much as 2 hours to fill a hot tub up, so be prepared to wait a little while. During the time that the hot tub is filling up, the installation technician will run through the chemicals that you need to add to the water. Explaining not only what they are, but how much to add and when you need to make sure that you use them too.

Look at how you use your control panel functions

Depending on the model of hot tub that you choose for your home, you are going to need to know how to use all the control panel functions. Having this knowledge will help you to understand how to turn up (or down the heat) turn on the lights or perhaps work out when something is wrong with your hot tub.

Perform final checks

Before leaving you alone with your hot tub, the installation technician is going to want to perform some final checks and make sure that everything is working. This includes demonstrating all the functions of the spa, such as your lights, jets, features and pumps too.

The entire installation process can take as long as 3 hours to complete. However, it is important to ensure that you understand everything that your hot tub can do and that it is always working properly too. After all, as soon as the water is up to temperature, you are going to want to jump in and enjoy it.

Enjoy the benefit of some me time in your hot tub

There are a number of reasons why you might decide to install a hot tub in your home. Not only is it ideal to relax and unwind in when you have had a long and busy day, but it is also great if you want to spend some time with your family and friends.

Not only this, but a hot tub is ideal if you are looking to spend a bit of time on yourself. We all could benefit from some me time in our busy lives, so, being able to get away from it all and soak away your troubles, well that could be enough to tempt you into treating yourself to a hot tub.

So, why is me time so important? Why should you be planning in a chance to get away from it all?

Sitting in a hot tub clears your head

Information is always coming at us, each and every day. Sometimes we can process it with ease, but sometimes it builds up and up and we feel that we are in total overload. When you get home from work and you feel that your brain could pop, then perhaps just what you need is to open your hot tub cover and jump in. Sitting there means that you can empty out all those thoughts and instead just enjoy not having anything to think about.

You leave the tech behind

Tech and water don’t always go well together and whilst there are more and more waterproof smart phones out there, this doesn’t always mean that we trust the idea of them being able to withstand water. When you are in the hot tub, chances are that you are going to want to leave your phone behind, which means that you can have a bit of time away from tech.

Your body will feel more relaxed

Whilst a hot tub is going to help you to unwind your mind, it also helps you to unwind your body too. Tired and aching muscles are going to feel oh so better when you sink into the warm water. Which is great if you have had a busy day and have been left feeling drained.

You can share it, if you want to

Of course, being alone in a hot tub is a great feeling, but sometimes you are going to want to share it with someone else. Hot tubs are the ideal social addition to your home. You and your partner can make time for one another, your family can all dive in together and, if you fancy it, you can even invite some friends over too. It really is down to whether or not you are happy to share your special space!

There are so many benefits to having a hot tub, being able to spend time alone with your thoughts is just one of them. So, why not think about installing one in your home? We can promise you it might just be the best thing that you ever do.
