FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS WHEN BUYING A HOT TUB

Here at the Hot Tub Company we are always happy to answer any questions you may have regarding hot tubs. So if there is anything you would like to ask us, please do not hesitate to get in touch. However for your convenience and peace of mind we have included below a list of frequently asked questions that should allay any concerns you may have.

At the Hot Tub Company we have over 30 years of trade experience. That means over 30 years of honouring warranties, of providing spares and repairs, of providing the highest quality products and over 30 years of giving excellent service. We have spent most of this time at the forefront of technical innovations and for our longevity, our expertise, our competitive prices and our dedication to service, you can be sure that you will be in safe hands with us.

Our Shoreline Hydrotherapy™ hot tubs have been designed and engineered to save energy. They are not expensive to run and use from around 5kwh per day (average usage) depending on the environment.

Reassuringly little. As our hot tubs have the built-in ShoreClean™ system they do not use a lot of water at all. After filling, you can expect to use the water for up to 12 weeks (depending on use) before changing it.

You will be surprised at how easy our hot tubs are to maintain; particularly with our ShoreSet™ and ShoreClean™ systems (fitted as standard). Just 5 to 10 minutes a week is all that is required of you to keep your hot tub clean, fresh and looking its best!

Essentially there is no difference; they are different names for the same product/design. A swim spa is different altogether. Think of it as an aqua treadmill; it is an excellent and effective way to exercise and is great fun for all the family. Some people think that Jacuzzi is a type of hot tub where as it is really a brand of hot tubs.

We were established in 1990 as part of Waterside Leisure UK. We are a family run business which, at over 30 years of age, is one of the longest established hot tub companies in the UK; surviving, thriving, and outliving many of our competitors. We are proud members of SPATA (Swimming Pool and Allied Trade Association) and original members of BISHTA (British and Irish Spa and Hot Tub Association). We offer service, repair and installation of all related products – from spas, swimming pools, swim-spas and fitness pools to hydrotherapy pools, steam rooms and saunas. We also service local authorities, hotel groups, health clubs, and universities and some of our engineers have over 35 years of experience within the industry.

Quite simply because we cut out the middle man. As part of our on-going commitment to competitive pricing we always buy direct from the manufacturer.

All of our hot tubs are fully insulated through a process known as Polar-Insulation™. Studies carried out with thermal imaging cameras shows low heat bloom – indicating highly efficient insulation capabilities.

Most people would assume that more jets means a better hot tub. A greater number of jets can certainly create a more invigorating massage, but the jets fitted need the water flow to power them and this is a careful balance. Jets must also be well positioned to ensure a good massage on soft tissue. There are also many different types of jets and all Shoreline™ tubs are capable of giving you a deep tissue hydrotherapeutic massage as most have HydroPro™ jets fitted as standard.

WhisperPumps™ have a near silent motor which is purposefully designed and engineered to work in the high temperature of the Polar-Insulated hot tub, and we can assure you that they are of the highest quality. In fact in the industry they are revered for their quality and longevity.

The control systems are manufactured by Shoreline Hydrotherapy, Balboa or Gecko; who are specialists in the industry. Trusted and reliable, they are comprehensive, multi-functional and simple to use.

Most of the jets are adjustable. You can also customise them – and subsequently customise your experience!

They are exceptionally effective. The HeatLoc covers we use are thickest, most robust covers available and are made of marine grade vinyl. We cannot guarantee the weather, but we can guarantee that however cold it gets your spa will retain its heat!

Of course! Our spas are ergonomically designed and can offer excellent lumbar support but we would strongly recommend that you try before you buy! Each spa is different and it is important that you find the one that is suitable for you and your needs.

Hydrotherapy can increase blood flow and circulation, and it will also aid and alleviate joint and muscle pain. It can reduce stress and anxiety and help with insomnia. In the case of pregnancy or serious medical condition we would always advise that you consult a doctor.

Not necessarily, but we do advise the following: if you go away during the summer turn the temperature down, adjust the chemicals or even drain completely. In the winter, with the risk of freezing, we advise you to adjust the chemical levels and set the control panel to sleep mode. The temperature of the water will drop but the frost protection system will protect the spa.

Ozone kills bacteria, aids water treatment and is up to 20 times more effective than chlorine and bromine. It is highly beneficial to water quality and we recommend it. If you have any concerns about this or any other form of water treatment, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Controlling the temperature is very straightforward using the touchpad on the hot tub.

We offer unbeatable warranties that we are very proud of; including manufacturer’s warranties and a lifetime limited warranty on all ShoreCast™ shells and WeatherGuard™ cabinets. We offer unrivalled warranties on pumps and control systems and this amounts to a phenomenally low rate of claims. Nevertheless warranties, particularly with complex hot tub systems, are important and they should always be read carefully.

Of course. In fact it is where most people choose to have them. They are insulated, very robust and are perfect for the outdoors!

We usually advise waiting a period of 8 – 10 hours before using your hot tub. Unless you fancy a cold dip!

Of course, and furthermore we even offer a relocation service!

Hot tubs are safe but please follow the guidelines. The electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified person and adhered to the current regulations. Most safety involves common sense and hot tubs are no different; do not leave children unattended, keep electrical equipment away from the tub, make sure the cover is locked and secure when not in use etc. If pregnant or suffering a specific medical complaint you should always consult a doctor. Always read the guidelines on chemical use.
